Acquedolci is a town in the Metropolitan City of Messina, on the Tyrrhenian coast of north-eastern Sicily.

The town lies mainly along the coast, overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea, while its municipal territory extends inland towards the hills and mountains of the Nebrodi range.

Its coastal location makes Acquedolci easy to reach and gives it an important role as a link between the sea and the inland areas of the Nebrodi.

A Journey Through Acquedolci’s History

Acquedolci is a town on the Tyrrhenian coast of the Messina area, which developed from a small agricultural and mining settlement.

Its origins date mainly to the modern era, when the settlement grew around mining activities and the agricultural crops traditionally cultivated in the area.

Historically, the town was closely connected to nearby San Fratello, from which it gradually separated as its population grew and its economy developed.

During the twentieth century, Acquedolci underwent a process of urban development, evolving into an organised town with public services, schools and infrastructure.

Today, Acquedolci is a lively and dynamic community with a strong local identity. Its traditions reflect both its rural and maritime heritage and the commercial and tourism activities of the Tyrrhenian coast.
